What’s really going on??? This world is getting more messed up by the second. Last few years, the weather and political unrest in the world played center stage, this year its civil rights vs. racism making a return. Granted with the circumstances that have taken place the past few months, from election and political drama, to gas prices, one major issue has indeed taken over. One word: justice.

The Trayvon Martin situation seems to be taking on newer heights. News on the issue leaks out each day. Each day that George Zimmerman goes free, is another day that Martin’s family, and just about everyone who’s last name isn’t Zimmerman, seeks to find justice. In our fairness, I think George Zimmerman made a mistake. Whether he is truthfully sorry for what he did, he can’t re do the past. At the same time, his punishment needs to be brought forth. I believe that at the least, a trial needs to be appointed, and he needs to speak under oath. Being a believer in God, I know that only He has the ultimate final say. I pray for BOTH the salvation of George Zimmerman, and Trayvon Martin and his family.

ImageEven if there is more to it then just a hoodie and skittles, and that Trayvon Martin had a troubled childhood   in school, (which is just as irrelevant, as Zimmerman’s domestic case back in 2005) the real question I want to know is why is this one particular case getting so much more attention than other issues? This can be labeled a hate crime on racism terms, but there are so many other issues to be discussed. The support and the rallying behind this case is real strong and passionate, but where is this energy with gay marriage, abortion, poverty, unemployment, gas prices? (ok, that last one was a stretch) But my point is, let’s not get so hyped up about a story that comes off easily as one thing, let’s get ALL of the facts together, and in the meantime, let’s be passionate about the pressing issues already running rampant in our country, and in our world.

What’s really going on?

I think the longer we hover on this case, the longer we can be distracted from oil prices. I think that is completely fair to leave in your list of issues. Ethical issues should simply be resolved with the question “does this increase or decrease human suffering”…
