Greater Expectations: The Recap!!

This past Sunday my pastor Bryan Carter was finishing up his series with the theme Greater Expectations where are our church is in a season where we are expecting God to do GREATER things in the life of the church…

This was going to be the 5th and final installment of the sermon series. But the Holy Spirit had other plans in mind. Instead the entire Church worshiped God in song throughout, while celebrating how God moved especially on that day. 53 people, yeah, you read right, 53 people gave their live to Jesus Christ and said yes to a new relationship with Him. They were baptized, and that set the stage for an unspeakable, POWERFUL, ANOINTED day or Praise and Worship. Pastor said it best, “I had a sermon all written out and planed, but God changed the agenda” 

That happens from time to time… 😉

But Sunday was also the conclusion of a 28 day Fasting and Prayer season. Now I’ll be the first to say that the fast was definitely a challenge, and while I may have not kept my vow to God in my food intake, my spirit was poured into regardless. I still ate a whole lot healthier, denying my self [for the most part]  of any foods that my flesh would indulge in.

Still though the many faithful church members [we call ourselves Concordians] remained faithful from God, and His Spirit moved in that place throughout the season. Great preaching from my pastor each Sunday, and on the final week, we hosted a three night revival that us to a whole nother level!! Three phenomenal preachers, two from Houston, and another from just outside Atlanta preached a Word from God. Wednesday night, Terrance Johnson from the Higher Dimensions church preached “It’s the least you could do” from John 11 and 12.  How Jesus has done so much for us, the least we can do is give back to Him. Thursday Marcus Cosby from the Wheeler Avenue Baptist church talked about “Waiting without worrying” out of 2 Chronicles 20. Finally Friday, E. Dewey Smith from the Greater Travelers Rest church talked on “When you become frustrated in your purpose” in Ezra 4. Each night, the Word was simply tailored to both the personal, and corporate. My Spirit was filled of  those three nights!!

After those three nights AND Sunday’s Worship service, I am just overwhelmed with the work of God. How He continues to show up and show out on so many levels is just amazing and a testimony to itself that God still is and forever will be in control. And because He is in control, and because of the things He has done, we can have GREATER EXPECTATION for the things He is about to do!
